- Mood: Saved in Christ and Looking Forward to Celebrating His Birthday
Wednesday. COLD! It snowed last night after sleeting for several hours. Woke up this morning (in Texas, mind you) and there was actually snow on the ground. Been a while since it's snowed like that here.
Be Ready for Jesus
Check out today's Daily Bible Verse:
"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."
Matthew 24:42-44
Today I'm really feeling this verse. For believers, there is no mistaking that Jesus, as prophesied, will return. And just like all the other prophecies in the Bible that came true over thousands of years, He will come again to judge the living and the dead. What sort of judgment do you want to be given?
Remember, we as believers on this earth are not to judge ANYONE. When we judge others, that is a sin. That is for Christ alone to do, as given the power to do so by the Father, God. And when Christ's judgment comes, anyone who has refused to believe in Christ or was not faithful to God before Christ came will be judged accordingly.
While I am happy to say that I am saved and live my life everyday to glorify God as much as my humble and unworthy self can possibly do, I am sad for those who refuse to accept Christ or have not heard about Christ. Obviously I care, or I wouldn't be using this website as a way to reach souls. But I want you to truly understand that I have reached a point in my faith where I love Christ so much and I love my fellow humans so much that I want them to know Christ with every bit of my being. I know patience and humility and a sense of being a servant in ways I have never known. And I am so free because of that. It is my duty as a Christian, even though it feels like a privilege, to share that with you.
It honestly breaks my heart to think of all those lost people out there who are hurting because Christ is not in their life. Especially now that it's getting close to Christmas. I used to hate this time of year because all the focus on money and gifts, people running around, going into debt spending money on gifts, not really focusing on loving each other. But now that I'm an educated believer, I LOVE this time of year, because it's commemorating the birth of my Savior. I don't lose focus or get distracted by frustrations at the worldly focus and rat race on gifts.
I listen to the words of Silent Night or O Holy Night and literally every time I get choked up thinking of how precious that night was, because my King was born then. And then I get sad, thinking of all the people around me who don't know what that love feels like. From just knowing He's with me to having our Father answer my prayers...it is just amazing. But all they know is that Christmas is a time to get off of work, get gifts, watch football, or sleep in.
I told my wife that I look at it like this: Imagine your kids (if you don't have any, imagine someone else you love very much and take care of) never calling you or even thinking about you on your birthday. It would hurt right? Make you sad, or maybe even angry? Now think of Christ. Not only does he Love all of us, unconditionally, he was brutally tortured and DIED for us. And so many people not only forget to talk to him on his birthday, but they also don't even think about Him on that day.
But guess what...he STILL loves them unconditionally. And he will continue to love them unconditionally, whether they come to Him or not, until He returns. But read this carefully: Once Christ returns, it is TOO LATE to come to Him. God will have mercy on your soul and love you unconditionally until He sends the Son of Man, Jesus Christ, to return and fulfill the prophecy; judging the living and dead. But if you haven't made that decision to accept Christ and believe in God and trust Him, you will not have eternal life with Jesus. You will be cast into the fire.
I believe that with all my heart and soul.
Why would a God who is supposed to be so loving and merciful do such a thing to His creations? Well, this will be the subject of another entry, but suffice it say right now that: Once that judgment comes, it will have been after God gives many more signs, other than the ones already given by fulfilled prophecy, and many more answers to those who are wondering, yet they will still deny Christ and not believe in God. He will give them chance after chance and they will not come to him. They will actually rebuke Him. And by doing so, they will have spiritual death in a lake of fire.
Think about it. How many chances to you need before you actually commit to Christ? He wants you to so bad, because He wants you to experience his Love. There is no obligation to buy anything! There is no commitment other than accepting Him into your life and living by his commands and loving and serving others. And the best part of that is that the service you perform will actually FREE you and make you feel better than you ever did when all you did was receive. So life as a follower of Christ is easy?
No! Read the main page of this site again. My life is still hard and there's a lot of things to manage. It's not perfect. But here's the key...
I'm not doing it alone! And I feel His love, through the Holy Spirit, in my heart ALL the time. If I'm happy, I'm rejoicing and thanking God. If I'm sad, I'm praying for strength and for Him to comfort me, and thanking God.
He always comforts me and shows me that He is happy that I am trusting him and that I believe in Him.
And for all those who either don't care for that love or the Truth of his answers, and for all those who push it away, and for all those who have hardened their hearts, you are in trouble with He comes back. As the passage says, He will come like a thief in the night, when we are least expecting Him, and once He does, those who have rejected Him will be judged.
If Jesus were to come back right now, meaning no more chances to think it over, you're either with Him or against Him, which side would you be on? Think about that. Give it the attention it deserves.
I know where I will be. And I know I am saved. In my heart, there is nothing I want more in this world than to help as many people as possible be there with me, saved, and enveloped in His perfect love for eternity.
Will you be with me?
Until tomorrow.
Come Believe...
